Feeling the Moe Charm

My dear blog,

It's been over a year since I last wrote in here... After a while of not understanding why I couldn't log into to my blog and see my dashboard despite knowing my email, I had to wait a few days until the password reset email was sent. Ridiculous. But I'm just glad I haven't lost access to this blog as that would be quite a disappointment, to say the least.

So much has happened since the last post! I graduated college, was employed as a waitress for a few short months as I job hunted. Each day seemed so bleak as I waited to hear back from different places. Sometimes I heard back, had an interview, and either got rejected or I rejected the offer due to certain terms. Just when my confidence was flagging, I got a job in Hawaii and moved all the way out here. I'm glad to have the opportunity to work in my field, but I know I'm going back to grad school in the near future. I want to explore CADCAM more, but from a different angle (say, CAE).

College life in Philly seems like a lifetime away now, despite only graduating a little over a year ago. It's been a real struggle living on my own, but for what it's worth, I think I've learned a lot and grown a lot in this short time. Perhaps that's why this year has felt longer than any other year.

Anyway, I haven't really been back in the BJD hobby for a while, seeing as Rowan was the last member to join my little family... And that was 2010, 4 years ago. Aside from doing a little shopping in Japan at the Volks stores, I really didn't have much time to focus on taking photoshoots. And then when I moved to Hawaii, I didn't want to bring any of them as I hunted for an apartment during the first two weeks I was here. Just didn't want to take any risks.

But now I'm back, and recently was just browsing DoA and Volks' website when I was struck in the heart by one of cupid's moe arrows. I tried to veer away from photos, thinking, "No more! My wallet can't take it! Living expenses on Oahu are too extravagant! It's already hard enough saving up for grad school, but... okay, well, she costs less than my monthly rent... Just this once."

Before I knew it, I had spent 50,000+ Y.

As I paid for the Sato-gaeri services, it may take up to 2 months to ship her. Which means she could probably end up shipping at the end of December for all I know. In preparation for her, I also bought her clothes. So spoiled, and she's not even here yet!

Here're the Volks photos of her that K.O.ed me in one shot:

Of course, that's only an outfit set from DP 30. Her actual Limited Edition fullset is this:

And even if you're familiar with Rowan, a YOSD Kakeru, you might not have noticed that this is his twin mold, a YOSD Chika. A different faceup does wonders. But it's no wonder I found her so adorable, and just had to have her. That's right, there will be twins in the house. Thack is going to have kittens, Rui will just smile, and I can already see Shun snickering in the corner.

Just when I thought I could cry over my dying wallet, I was on Dollheart and ran across this outfit:

Needless to say, I'm just going to survive off of oatmeal, cereal, and cabbage for the next few months. I've already received the Dollheart Lauren outfit set, the sneakers, and the ponytail wig. Just waiting on the YOSD White Hoodie set, and of course the new girl.

I've a name in mind, but I'll reveal that in the blog when she arrives. Feeling pretty excited! Don't let my red-rimmed eyes and tear tracks on my face fool you.

Sincerely,

Nobody
